Community groups included the in the Substance Use and Addictions Program can submit a proposal with a minimum budget of $5,000 to a maximum budget of $50,000

The Neighbourhood Contributions Program's goal is to fund as many proposals as our budget permits.

The goal of the Neighbourhood Contributions Program are as follows:

1. Raising community awareness on the topic of drug poisoning and overdoses
2. Provide community education on the topic of drug poisoning and overdoses
3. Develop a community resource to address drug poisoning and overdoses
4. Develop a community support or service to address drug poisoning and overdoses (Please note: a new “service” developed using contribution funding could include, but is not limited to: drug use education, provision of harm reduction supplies such as safe drug use equipment, picking up of needles/syringes in the community and safe disposal, education on health and social supports for the community, etc.)

Collaboration between the residents, businesses, Indigenous communities, frontline workers, community organizations and the City of Edmonton is highly encouraged and would make for stronger proposals.

A proposals jury of Substance Use and Addictions Program partners will be accessing and deciding which proposals get funded.

The deadline to submit a proposal for the Neighbourhood Contributions Program is September 30, 2022

Funding for approved proposals will be distributed mid October

For this iteration of the Substance Use and Addictions Program, we will be focusing only on Edmonton's inner-core. Our hope is that we can expand this out to broader communities in future iterations of the program.
